- Video: ‘Sherelle | LDN: Bass & Percs Special’ (7 February 2019). This crackling Boiler Room DJ set made this young London DJ into an international hotcake. There’s much to remark upon here, including the miscegenation of various Afrodiasporic sample-based musical genres (footwork and UK jungle, primarily); the curious cross-cultural dissemination of footwork, a sound that’s not even well known domestically outside of Chicago; and the increasing significance of identity politics on the international club scene.
